When I first started working as an independent stylist back in 2014, I had no idea how to price my services. There was 0 education out there for independent stylists on pricing (basically on anything really).
I was looking at local salon’s websites to just get an idea of what I should be charging.
Some didn’t have their prices listed (sketchy af). Some did...but I noticed one thing...every salon had the exact same starting price.
I thought that was just where everyone started. I worked for years with this thought and the basic 10% price increases each year.
Not understanding why I was living paycheck to paycheck. I was complacent.
